INTRODUCTION
Superior Logistical Services Inc. (SLS) provides LTL and TRUCKLOAD
freight services, delivering to and from any point between Canada,
the United States and Mexico, on vans, flatbeds, reefers, or any
other type of specialized equipment required.
In order to maintain and enhance the services available to customers,
SLS must collect and use personal information. SLS occasionally
makes use of third-party companies who would have access to personal
information. These companies are bound by confidentiality requirements
and they are required to use the information only for those purposes
specified by SLS.
By developing and adopting this industry privacy code, SLS is
demonstrating its commitment to protect the personal information
of both customers and employees. This code is based on the code
developed nationally by the Canadian Cable Television Association
(CCTA). The code consists of ten interrelated principles to which
Access Communications privacy practices must adhere.
This code outlines the guidelines by which SLS operates to protect
the privacy of customers' and employees' personal information.
This Code conforms to the requirements set out under Part 1 of
the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act,
which came into force on January 1, 2001.
